There has been emphasis in recent years on promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship through collaboration between students and investors, to translate ideas into viable businesses. Yukti platform is an initiative of the HRD Ministry in that direction.
Yukti Platform
It aims to help students and innovators to harness their potential, bring them to a single platform and help them sell their ideas. The platform will bring together technologies from students, faculties and startups so that they can be showcased to the investor community. However, preliminary innovations won’t be showcased on this platform but only those which have commercialisation potential.
This will help students to start their own startups and will also create innovation and entrepreneurship in India’s culture as there is a push for Atma Nirbhar Bharat. This database will also provide a clear picture of the state of the innovation ecosystem of our higher educational institutions. It will help the government to identify bottlenecks and formulate appropriate policies to strengthen the innovation ecosystem in the country.
Recently, Yukti 2.0 was launched to identify ideas relevant in COVID pandemic. The portal intends to cover the different dimensions of COVID-19 challenges in a very holistic and comprehensive way.
