In news– Australia hosted a week-long Multinational Naval Exercise Kakadu recently.
About the exercise-
- It is a Royal Australian Navy (RAN) led exercise supported by the Royal Australian Air Force.
- The exercise is the RAN’s flagship biennial regional International engagement activity and has grown in size and complexity since its inception in 1993.
- The exercise is of both harbour and sea stage and involves ships and maritime aircraft from 14 navies.
- The theme for the 2022 exercise is ‘Partnership, Leadership, Friendship’.
- INS Satpura and a P8 I Maritime Patrol Aircraft of the Indian Navy have participated in it.
Note:
Some of the bilateral exercises held between India and Australia are Exercise Pitch Black, Ex AUSTRA HIND(Army), Ex AUSINDEX (Navy) and Malabar Exercise (Quad countries).
