In news– The Union Home Minister has inaugurated ‘Seema Darshan Project’ at Nadabet located on the Indo-Pak border in Banaskantha District of Gujarat recently.
About the project-
- This multipurpose tourism project was initiated with the aim to provide an opportunity to the people so that they can visualize the life and work of the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel on our border.
- It is projected as the first state-of-the-art BSF project in the country, which will illustrate the origins, development and role of BSF in the wars as well as the achievements of the heroes who have made supreme sacrifices for the country.
- Under this Project, all kinds of tourist facilities and other special attractions have been developed at a cost of 1 crore 25 lakhs.
- One of the key attractions of the place will be the daily parade by BSF soldiers and tourists will also be able to see various weapons of the Indian Army and BSF such as surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missiles, T-55 tanks, artillery guns, torpedoes, wing drop tanks and MiG-27 aircraft at Nadabet.
- A 30-feet high T-Junction Pillar, adorned by murals depicting the border protectors in action, is the centerpiece of the Seema Darshan Complex that has been set up.
- Another monument called ‘Ajay Prahari’ has been erected in memory of the heroic soldiers who sacrificed their lives while protecting the nation.
- The Indian national flag has been hoisted at a height of 40 feet here.
- An Interpretation Centre has been set up to acquaint the visitors with the life of a BSF jawan as well as the daily vagaries of the inhabitants of border villages through a composition of state-of-the-art visual settings.
- The high-tech interactive installations such as virtual patrolling, experiential technologies and simulators are expected to be a big draw for visitors.
