About the Food and Agriculture Organization
- It was established in the year 1945
- The idea of an international organization for food and agriculture(later its functions were transferred to FAO) emerged in the late 19th and early 20th century, advanced primarily by Polish-born American agriculturalist and activist David Lubin
- FAO is a specialized agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger.
- Goal of FAO is to achieve food security for all and make sure that people have regular access to enough high-quality food to lead active, healthy lives.
